I have arranged a reading list on http://www.goodreads.com .

Next 30 books I plan to read, as of Jul 24, 2020

Just started reading Book 2 of the Greatcoats series – Knight’s Shadow, as part of a read along. Really enjoyed the first book, and looking forward to more of Falcio, Kest, and Brasti. I’m also excited as I hope to get a signed and dedicated copy of the first book, Traitor’s Blade, from author Sebastien de Castell.

I am planning to finish Wheel of Time early next year (next up Winter’s Heart – Book 9 in the series), as I’m part of a Malazan read-along, starting Jan 2021. In case you’re wondering, all these read alongs are arranged by Mike, of Mike’s Book Reviews.

I’ll also finally get to start Joe Abercrombie’s First Law series, which has just shot up my TBR thanks to glowing reviews and recommendations from all over. Finally a chance to see what Lord Grimdark is all about. And I plan to finish Mistborn Era 1 soon. The first two books – The Final Empire and Well of Ascension were absolutely brilliant, and you would expect no less from Brandon Sanderson, possibly the top fantasy author in the world at the moment. My reread of Discworld soon comes to an end with Thief of Time, Night Watch, and Monstrous Regiment. It is a series I have never been able to say my final goodbye to, and I foresee future rereads.

Another series I have started, and hope to make further progress into, is Stephen King’s epic fantasy – The Dark Tower.

The next 30 books are more of the same, but with Wheel of Time complete, I’ll get to spend more time on other series, such as Gentleman Bastard by Scott Lynch. Will make further progress into Witcher, Dresden Files, Rivers of London, and Dark Tower, while I also plan on starting Brandon Sanderson’s epic series Stormlight Archive.

Finally, the next 30 (yes, the pandemic means I’m stuck at home making lists, you should see my Excel spreadsheets!) will see me hopefully start John Gwynne’s Faithful and the Fallen, R.F. Kuang’s Poppy War, and finish off Malazan of course. Kingkiller Chronicles is up there, but a lot depends on Patrick Rothfuss finishing his series If he wants to, of course. No pressure. Books of Babel by Josiah Bancroft is a series that has intrigued me for a while now. Described by the author as “Creepy Disneyland, where you immediately lose your spouse, and no one will help you.” Watch this video to get some more insight into the author and his works – Why You Should Read Senlin Ascends.
